Ductless Split Air Conditioning and Heating Installation Services for New Orleans, North Shore, and River Parishes
A ductless split system is a modification of a window unit or through the wall air conditioner. Much like central air conditioner units, ductless split air conditioners have two components (hence the term “split system”): an inside unit and an outside compressor/condenser. The “ductless” name comes from the fact that the inside unit does not require any ductwork. A conduit connects the outside and inside units through a tiny hole that is drilled into the wall of the home.
One advantage of ductless splits is their small size and flexibility for heating and cooling individual rooms. Some ductless splits can have various inside air handling units (for different rooms) connected to one outside unit. The number depends on how much heating and cooling is required for the home or each room. Each room will have individual thermostats. This helps to save energy and money as you will only need to cool an area where someone is present. Another advantage is the split system is quiet, unlike a traditional window unit. The components that create noise are located outside.
Ductless splits have various options when it comes to interior design. The inside air handlers can be suspended from a ceiling, mounted flush into a drop ceiling, or hung on a wall. Many indoor units come with sleek, high tech looking jackets. Some ductless splits offer a remote control to make it easier to turn the system on and off when it is positioned high on a wall or suspended from a ceiling.
